it 's been quite the crazy time around here. halloween was jam-packed and fun-filled ~ lyle trick-or-treated twice and got so much candy that we were able to steal some from his stash, and he didn't even notice :) tapu visited us for the weekend - so we had fun going to the dollar store to shop for goodies, eating lunch at the guenther house, and feeding the ducks at the river. now that halloween is over, holiday decorations are going up everywhere ~ man, it's going to be here soon - yikes.
i have to say that today i am most thankful for the historic end to quite an exciting and frustrating presidential election. YAY OBAMA!!!!! i am truly relieved and excited to say that Barack Obama is our next president. what a great moment we shared last nite as sean and i watched Obama make his speech as the president-elect of the united states ~ it brought tears of joy to my eyes. already the world's view of us as a nation has changed for the better ~ his grace and intellect are a welcome change to the past eight years of arrogance and stupidity.
i wish that i had more friends to celebrate with ~ living as a blue person in a red state is challenging at times, and i'm finding it difficult to connect with friends here. i feel like an outsider most of the time. i don't rejoice in their disappointment, but i wish they were more open to change. oh well - i'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that Obama can lead us out of this mess we're in :)
